Anna Bits

Just some Anna bits and pieces I've been compiling for awhile....

Words that impress me that she uses:
perfectly, lively, discovered, interrupting, magical, opposite, online, metal detector, envelope, vending machine, creative, awfully, centerpiece, and now her ballet words: releve, plie, and 1st position

Mispronunciations that melt my heart:
Chuwocowate, Binocaweeyers, Ipsy Ipsy Spider, Pritch a fit

Sound Bytes:
  • "Daddy, call me cowboy girl."
  • "Daddy, you are mommy's husband."
  • "My back is firsty, my legs are sweepy."
  • When her candy got taken away, she cried, "But I riwee need somefing to help my body grow!"
  • "Sometimes doggies make girls happy, sometimes trees love you, sometimes people get sick, sometimes boys and girls frow up and sometimes they don't."
  • "Mommy, I tell you a secret?  My boogers have germs."
  • "Mommy, you don't know what comes from water?  Rain!"
  • "You don't know what bananas come from? Trees!"
  • "Mommy, you don't know what comes from milk?  Cows!"
  • When I tell her I love her, she says, "I wuv you mooooore!"
  • "My cottage is fawwin' apart!!  Stay up, you siwwy fing!"
  • Anna asked her 16 y/o cousin if she got her earrings because she was potty trained as well.
  • "Mommy, when I grow up, I wanna do laundry just like you."
  • "A starts with Anna and X starts with X-ray."
  • Things she says rhyme - treat and treetop, pen and pencil, melt and milk, crazy and craisins
  • "It's a super duper funny Christmas day."
  • "Daddy, I wuv you be wiff me.  I wuv you.  This is a good day."
  • "Dis not my favorite day anymoreeeeee."
  • "I so grumpy at you right now." (with arms folded sharply around her body)
  • "I'm all dried out."  I said, What does that mean?  She said, "It means I need a drink."
  • When she grows up she wants to be a cardmaker, mapmaker, tooth fairy, cowgirl, and/or ballerina.
  • "Noah's my funniest brother in my whole life!"
  • "I wuv all the letters ever in my whole world!"
  • Her latest song included the following lines.... "And I still love you in my life and I wuv my world and I wuv my famiwy and dog, And I wuv you mo-o-o-o-re, and God is very nice, yes, and I wuv you, tooooooo."   "Mommy, was dat a pretty song, because it was about ballerinas and princesses."
  • "Dear God, please help my Daddy get these silly boogers out my nose."
In these 3 year old days of hers....
  • Anna is a budding artist and very emotional about it when it doesn't go how she plans.
  • She is quickly agitated at lots of noise and chaos or when she is rushed by someone.
  • She has adoption envy - she wants to write to Tania and talk to her when Noah does.
  • She prefers a flashlight, tape measure, and rope to any of her toys any day.
  • She spends more time in her princess dress-up gowns than not these days.
  • I am coming to the realization that she is one easily distractible girl.  Yikes.
  • She is so bothered by any and all litter she spots that I am now roped into packing gloves and a bag in the car so we can start picking it up and praying for the litterers to stop.
  • She's nap-time potty trained and does not wear pull ups then anymore.
  • She's stayed dry for a solid month at night, so she's about done there, too. This is a little bittersweet, because she has passed her older brother in this milestone. :(
  • She has begun playing with dolls, which makes my heart smile.
  • She does not like to lose.  She gets that from me. :(
  • She loves to bake with me and shop with me and check the mail with me.
  • Yesterday I witnessed some very sassy and selfish little girl play/drama that caught me way off guard.  It was like she became another child altogether!
  • She is getting better and better at putting on her play make-up.  AND letting me - nay, ASKING ME TO - take her picture.

  2. Oh, man, I'm trying to! Confession, though. I let my gratitude for these sweet moments with my girl slip a little today when I had to play Candyland ... AGAIN... with a little space cadet who kept bumping the board and cards and me.

    Bad mommy. Bad. :(

  3. That is one cute little girl :) We had a little girl in our SS 3 yo class (we were sub-ing) who talking JUST like Anna...Lee and I were amazed....Anna's voice is no unique, but apparently there are others out there :)

You amaze me with your lists.... :) you'll never wonder about anything when they're older. Definitely captured their young lives....I"m a little envious of your consistent list making :)

  4. I wanna come play with her! Those quotes had me laughing..."boogers have germs" hahahahaha

I agree with Emily. Why is it so hard for me to document like this, even though I know I would absolutely treasure it and hang on to every word of it later in life? You are an inspiration!
