Rambling about Day 1

Today, right now, is Josh's first day on the new job - not counting a convention he has been attending for it in Nashville this week.  It is first thing in the morning , but already I can feel the differences.  Usually I can email him and he gets his email right away on his phone.  Today, not so.  That email address is not his anymore and that phone is shipped back to Pearson. Josh has a normal prepaid phone like me now and there's no email on that bad boy.  No worries, I just texted him instead. But still, so weird!  I feel a little cut off from him; I guess that was one of the other perks of his Pearson job, only I didn't realize it until just now.  Anyway, I can't wait to hear how his first day went but I'll have to wait til he gets home to find out.  Lord knows I probably shouldn't just pick up the phone and call him during the day ... like I've grown quite accustomed to over the past 7 years.  So weird!

  1. Big adjustments....but so definitely worth it. He'll be home EVERY night. Yay! Still so excited for you. (I go through simiilar adjustments every year when school starts....I get so used to the children being around or a phone call away and then I go through a sort of panic when I realize I can't communicate with them until they get home. There's no calling them up and asking what they did with so and so, etc.)

  2. What do you mean you can't just call him? I call Lee anytime I need him! And he gets his emails I send fast too, unless he's in a meeting that day....

SOOOO excited to hear about it...I'm gonna call you.

  3. Oh, I'll call him, but probably not as liberally as I did when I knew he was on the road. :) Plus, I wasn't gonna call him on his first day - that can't make a good first impression with the new boss!

And I couldn't email him because he didn't have an email address yet. Hoping he gets a work one this week so I know he will get any messages from home sooner than when he ever logs onto his gmail account.
