This year, I managed to make my way through 50 books. 50 wasn't planned or anything, but by the time I stopped to tally all my titles, I was in the mid 40's, so I did decide to power through and push right on up to 50 over the last two months, which has not been easy. I've sort of hit a dry spell in the way of finding good books. But by the end of this month, I will have finished the Bible again, and that will be my 50th, which is fitting because the Bible has taken me all year to read anyway. It might as well round out my list as it rounds out my year.

I'm still on major burnout from this semester and can't believe that I'm not devouring books right now nor do I have any desire to. But, here's an author I discovered this summer and even Beka enjoys - Chris Fabry. We've really enjoyed his books. And, I did finally read Francine Rivers' "Redeeming Love" since I found the anniversary edition for $5 bucks at Lifeway. She's my number two fave under Jan Karon. I've read the Mark of the Lion trilogy three times now.
ReplyDeleteIt's funny because I feel like I am coming up on a little reader's burnout, too. I could see myself not picking up a book for another month or two. Maybe I'm just feelin' moody lately. I don't know.
ReplyDeleteIf you have a copy of the last two titles by Fabry, I sure would like to borrow them!
Redeeming Love is one of my least favorite by Rivers. Isn't that odd? Since it's like everyone's favorite by her!
ReplyDeleteDo you use a Kindle or ereader or do you buy individual books? I'm reading Francis Chans' "Crazy Love". It has opened my mind to thinking so differently about my relationship with God. I suggest it if you haven't read it yet and want something easy to get into.
ReplyDeleteDon't you know me at all? I'm too old school to jump on the Kindle bandwagon just yet. ;) And I'm too lazy to go to the library to check my books out/order them there. So yes, I buy them all. But thanks to my sister-in-law's example, next year I am going to start selling them back and making money back out of the deal!
ReplyDeleteI hear you on the Crazy Love. I read that one last year.
